The birds chirping today were the harbingers of Spring, reminding people that Spring will come. It is like the peak of the bad weather (not really bad at all, only uncomfortable for humans) has been reached and the next period of time will be the wind down towards warming up. So take whenever it got really cold until now, and that much time from today will bring the warm weather.
